Zephyrs and Locomotives...

Cover Story: Steamtown -- GOF XXXVI

On the Cover: What happens when steam cools? Well, it condenses, precipitates, and, if there's enough of it, it falls as rain. And so it did on the Saturday morning of the Steamtown Meet, LZOC's Gathering of the Faithful XXXVI, or the Lincoln Owners Club's 46th Annual Meet, on June 5, 2004, at Lukan's Farm Resort near Hawley, PA. Standing in grim array, sopping wet but impassive, are the Valley Green 1948 Lincoln Convertible Coupe of Bob DiCarlo, the Zephyr Blue 1937 Zephyr Coupe of Ed Lyons, the black 1939 Zephyr Sedan of Lee Craig, the black '46 Continental Cabriolet of Robert Jolin, and the Wren Tan '38 Zephyr Convertible of Jerry Richman, with Roger Comire's '46 Continental hidden behind it; then Bernie Wolfson's Darian Blue '42 Zephyr Coupe, and Allen McWade's eye-catching Pace Car Yellow '48 Lincoln Convertible. Beyond it, one step forward, is Alan Miller's 1935 Lincoln Model K roadster, and sundry others on down the line. An enfilade shot by Chadwick A. Coombs.
