Cover Story: Wow! What a Car!

On the Cover: By the time our cover photograph was taken on October 31, 1933, the streamlined car designed by John Tjaarda and built by the Briggs Manufacturing Company had been inspected by close to a million visitors to the Ford Exposition of Progress at Detroit's Convention Hall, and only one day was left before the Expo closed. A reporter had mingled with the crowd and had written down comments made by those who looked at the car, and as soon as his report was completed, Ford and Briggs would know whether they should go ahead with making a production car based on this prototype. Beginning on page 4 of this issue, you can read the highlights of his findings...
