Cover Story: After Sixty Years, Together Again

On the Cover there's that '39 Continental again! It was featured on the cover of the January-February issue because its restoration was nearing completion after a forty-year hiatus, and again on the March-April cover because this earliest of all Lincoln Continentals had made its debut on the show field. Here, standing between the '39 Continental, 96H56-2, and its owner-restorer, Bob Anderson, is Eugene T. "Bob" Gregorie, the man who designed the car for Edsel Ford in 1939, and was the first private owner of this #2 Continental prototype. Bob Anderson took it to Gregorie's home following the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Gregorie loved seeing the car and spent more than two hours looking it over, reminiscing about its various features, and riding in it with Anderson. If a heart-warming story like this isn't front-page news for Lincoln lovers, what is?
