Cover Story: The 1938 Convertible Sedan; Flagship of the Zephyr Fleet

On the Cover: In 1955, Bob and Vivian Bennett of Mason City, Iowa, drove their 1938 Lincoln-Zephyr Convertible Sedan on the Classic Car Club's annual CAR-avan from Harrisburg, Pa., to Detroit and the Packard Proving Grounds, where this photo was taken. Here they chat with a model dressed in 1920's style, appropriate for some of the cars on the tour. Although the Zephyr was not recognized as a Classic Car (and still isn't!), it looks quite at home with the cars behind it that are -- a Cord, a couple of Model K Lincolns, a post-war Lincoln Continental and a couple of Packards.
