EASTERN NATIONAL MEET 2009

Life, Luxury and Lincolns is the theme for the GOF XLI in Latham, New York. The Eastern National Meet will be held in Latham, New York, May 27th - May 30th , 2009.

Come and join us for a very special and fun event to be held in Latham, New York. The fun events will include a tour of a private collection of brass era cars, a tour boat ride on beautiful Lake George, N.Y. which will include a buffet style lunch aboard ship, a poker run, and all of the usual events.

The meet hotel will be the Century House Inn. Reservations can be made now by calling (518)785-0931 or (888) 67HOUSE. Be sure to mention that you are a LZOC member and request the special room rate of $ 90.00 per night. This includes a hot breakfast buffet each morning. The show area will be at the Guptill's 1950's Roller Skating Rink. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, this is the world's largest indoor rollerskating arena! The original 1950's interior is very nostalgic. The lawn area adjacent to the rink will be the show field for judging of the cars on Friday. Lunch on your own at the Guptill's Coney Express ice cream stand and snack bar on the premises. Here's the planned schedule:

9:30 - 6:00pm Lake George Boat Cruise and lunch buffet aboard ship Lac du St. Sacrement Luncheon Cruise: Transportation, free time in Lake George Village and/or the Saratoga Auto Museum.

9:00 - 10:00am Placement of cars for judging
10:00 - 3:00pm Judging of show cars
3:30 – 4:30pm Seminar / Ed Spagnolo of Colorite, guest speaker
6:00 – 7:00pm Social Hour

Latham, N.Y. is easily accessible by major highways, an International Airport ( the hotel will have a shuttle ) and public transportation. The site is 20 minutes from Albany International Airport and can be accessed from the New York State Thruway, exit 24 and the Adirondack Northway, Interstate Route 87, exit 6.

A short drive to the Adirondack Mountains, Lake George, and Saratoga Springs is a perfect setting to take in the most spectacular landscapes of New York State.

Lac du St. Sacrement Luncheon Cruise
At Beautiful Lake George

On Saturday, we will be treated to a display of some of the brass era cars from the Gerald Sichel Trust collection. These cars have recently been on exhibit at the Saratoga Automobile Museum.

The collection features cars from the automotive age of brass that ran from 1890 to 1918. Among others, the collection includes the following vehicles: 1903 Rambler Runabout, 1903 Ford Model A Runabout, 1904 Pierce Stanhope, 1906 Ford Model N Roadster, 1906 Franklin Type G Touring, 1907 Brush Model BC Runabout, 1907 Jewel Model D Runabout, 1909 Hupmobile Model 20 Runabout, 1909 Stanley Steamer Model E2 Runabout, 1911 E-M-F Model 30 Coupe, 1911 Cartercar Four Model M Touring, 1911 R.C.H. Four English Body Roadster, 1912 Metz Model 22 Roadster, 1912 Little Four Roadster, 1914 Saxon Model A Roadster, 1915 Trumbull Cyclecar Roadster, and a 1915 Ford Model T Calliope Wagon. This will be a display enjoyed by all our attending Zephyrists!

There will be ample parking for trucks and trailered cars at the local Lincoln Dealer, Nemith Lincoln Mercury Dealership across the street from the Hotel. The meet is contained within a half mile distance on U.S. Route 9.
